August Fun

Hey everyone!

This month has been so much fun! I apologize for not posting more. I'll try and work on that.... "working on that" really means whenever I care to actually sit down and write a blog out....so you know, I'm working on that. This whole month has been all about playing. Ian hadn't started working as a pharmacist yet due to the fact that he had to take his Idaho pharmacy law test first in order to get his Idaho license, so in between the times he was studying (which was a bloody lot) we put in a few good adventures and misadventures.

We got our first Idaho visitors! Yippee! Ian's cousins came up for a weekend and we had a blast! We hit up the zoo first thing on Saturday. Sadly there is no bird show for me to work at, but my heart really belongs to Hogle Zoo's bird show anyway. (Hear that Steve and Jena?) They have an awesome Peregrin Falcon Reserve and bird sanctuary here in Boise, so I'll have to check that out.

I do have to say though, they have an awesome Butterfly house. Apparently it's good luck to have one land on you.... my honey is jackpot!

After the zoo, we came home and had some lunch, then hit the pool. And check this out... we have a hot tub... Imagine this.... Winter, Cold, Snow....Hot Tub. Are you drooling on your keyboard yet? I'll be getting down with my cold self probably most of the winter there. It's probably fine.

The next week we decided to take an adventure up to the foothills of Boise. There is this awesome little hike called Polecat Loop just south of downtown. The whole loop is about 5 to 6 miles long. You can take a bunch of short cuts and customize it to how far you want to go. We were hoping to do the whole 6 miles, but we forgot we had a 6 month old puppy. Franklin wasn't used to the hot weather and steeper hills, so we had to cut 2 miles out. He was acting like he was dying.... for those Family Guy Fans, remember this guy?

Yeah that was Franklin....one word....dragging.

Well that next Saturday, we had heard of the awesome farmer's market they have here in Boise and knowing us, we had to investigate. Let me just tell you how amazing it is! It is about 4 to 5 blocks of amazingness! We bought fresh corn and lunch there. I wanted to buy more but I just couldn't stop at one place long enough because there was so much more to see! A.D.D. much?

Sit down ladies.... This was Lavender Mint Lemonade...Holy Amaze Bats!

Earlier last week Franklin got sick.... again. When will this guys give us a break?! I like to live by the old motto "rub some dirt in it." But after Franklin was up all night coughing and hacking his lungs up, we figured it was probably time to see what was up. He had an Upper Respiratory Infection.

(At the vet.  You can literally see the snot running out of his nose. Gross.)

Oh, and don't worry, this means he was super contagious, which also means, no walks, no doggie parks, and no rough housing.... If you have ever had a 6 month old puppy... yeah, good freaking luck with that. Luckily his medicine made him groggy most of the time so we only had to put up with his crazy antics a percentage of the time and it gave me the opportunity to get some crazy cute cuddling pics.

Well there ya go folks. Just a little look into what has been going on in our lives lately. We have really started to love it here and hope to see some more familiar faces here soon! Love you all!

"People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere, people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."
